Action Plan:
6. Classes transactions:
  • The first period teacher, generally the class teacher, uses the first ten minutes to interact with the students and discuss various aspects of life so that a good report is built up and the students are receptive to the teacher.

  • In order to inclcate a feeling of responsibility and develop civic sence the children are assigned various duties and a chart is maintained in each class.

  • The tiffin time is used to impact good table manners and communicate good eating habits. The teacher stresses on fresh balanced diet and discourages the eating of junk food.

  • Children are encouraged to speak about their role model /teacher.

  • To promote dignity if labour the students are encouraged to do once a month.

  • The children are taught the maxim, 'Do one good deed a day'.

  • Children are encouraged to accept their shortcomings and own up to any bad deeds they may have committed. Their acceptance of their erroneous

    behaviour or any faults are not penalized, but acknowledged as an act of courage.

  • The teacher maintains eye-to-eye contact with each child.

  • Teachers don't use harsh words under any circumstances and deal with the children in a compassionate manner.

7. Teacher-student interaction:
  • The teachers treat the students like their own children. They spend time with them trying to understand their problems and helping them with advice.

  • Some students, especially those drawn from economically or socially disadvanced sections of society, feel diffidence in everything they do.teachers should try to build their self-confidence by helping them to overcome a defeatist mind-set.

  • There are also problems faced by students due to various kinds of stress. These may be due to tension of an impending examination, the result of physical ailment or malnutrition, the effect of a broken home, peer group help them overcome such stress.

  • To promote better understanding and openness between the student and the teachers, occasional sports and cultural activities are organized.

  • Sport language is encouraged e.g. Leadership, team spirit, cooperation, healthy competition, discipline, inclucating sportsmanship etc.

8. Social service:
  • They are asked to look after the cleanliness, maintenance and upkeep of the school premises

  • They are encouraged to plant trees in the school and tend the trees.

  • Environmental pollution is a serious issue and the children are not only aware of the implications but also sensitized to the role in this .
