Action Plan:
3 .Interaction with parents:
  • A teacher knows more about a student than his parents do and cares as much.To achieve this, she has constant, continuous and personal interaction with the parents.

  • If there is a deviation in the student's behaviour or a dip in his acedemic credits.The principal calls the parents to the school for a frank discussion.

  • One grandparent is invited per month for an inspirational talk/story narration.

  • Meetings of the parents teachers associations are held regularly.

    :- These meetings are used for exchange of notes generally on the situation of value conflict observed among the students.

    :- Parents are frankly told about the deficiencies in home upbringing that might have come to the notice of the teachers.

    :- The girls and their mothers are sensitized on the dangers of rape, AIDS etc.The importance of self defense classes for girls are emphasized.

4. Slogans:
  • At the entrance of the school, the motto of the school is prominently displayed.

  • Effort is made to inculcate pride for the school. The motto is not only an academic exercise but a vibrant philosophy which the children take pride in as a guideline for their daily lives.

  • Suitable sayings and quotations are called out focussing on simple values like punctuality, courtesy, patience, perseverance, compassion, love, respect for elders, patriotism, faith, truth, righteous conduct, non-violence, peace and facing adversity with a smile have been put up in corridors.

5. Morning assembly:

The morning assembly is fully utilized for inculcation of values. This is achieved through the following activities:

  • The assembly takes place in a quick, silent and orderly manner. Students are instructed in the art of silence.

  • Yogasanas are followed twice a week. The benefit expected from each asana is explained.

  • There is community singing of songs and bhajans. The subject matter is edifying , patriotic, based on harmony among different faiths and the essential unity of all religions.

  • Moral and spiritual talks by students, teacher, outside guest teachers are encouraged. They speak about human values that are common to all the world faiths.

  • “ A thought for today” is chose by a group of faculty members. It is morally elevating and spiritually.

  • Short moral stories are narrated once a week during the assembly .

  • Significance of the important days of the year (national cultural, regional, religious) are explaned. This promotes harmony, tolerance and respect for each other.

  • The principal advises the students about the posture they have to maintance during morning assembly, especially at the time of the national anthem.

  • The students are given one minute at end for a bit of self-appraisal and introspection.

  • Positive behaviour of children is acknowledged in the assembly.

  • At the end, the students disperse to the tune of a dispersal song and move silently and methodically to their classes.
