Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is an autonomous organization under the ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India. The Headquarters of KVs is located at 18, Institutional Area, Shaheed jeet Singh Marg, New Delhi 110016 ( Phone No. 011-26858570 (Board), Fax- 011-26514179, E-mail kvssao@nic.in ) the KVS administers its schemes through 18 Regional Offices, one each at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Patna and Silchar. There are 979 Kendriya Vidyalayas at present including 03 located abroad one each at Moscow, Kathmandu and Tehran. Each Kendriya Vidyalaya has its Vidyalaya Management committee headed by a senior officer from Defence/Civil Services/Educationist etc. All the Kendriya Vidyalayas are affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2, Sirsa was established in July 1994 in a temporary building. Its new building on Kanganpur Road, Sirsa was inaugurated by Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi, Hon'ble Union Minister for Human Resource Development in the presence of Ch. Om Prakash Chautala, Hon'ble Chief Minister, Haryana on July 21, 2001. It is a one section school from class I to XII.(Commerce Stream)
The Vidyalaya stands in a campus spread over thirteen and a half acres of land which provides ample space for Games and Sports and various activities.
